Community Initiatives & Outreach

Our various charitable programs involve partnering with other organizations in designated areas to fulfill our mission of raising awareness and funds for both. Our aim is to work hand-in-hand with local officials and charities to help alleviate their financial burden of caring for disadvantaged persons through various eco-developments.  Additional benefits received from these eco-developments include practical sustainable education, skills and methodologies which is returned directly to the local community.

We also provide education through “open sourced” means to build collaboration without boundaries. It is important that we not only educate the general public on why it is vital to live more sustainably and autonomously, but to educate on the importance of working together to find solutions. We provide education through the dissemination of facts, statistical data, charts, graphs, and studies.

Funds received through the entirety of the organization’s activities will be used exclusively for the educational or charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and will not be used for personal gains of any sort.

Current Programs & Projects

The Planting Progress Community Initiative

Our inaugural program was designed to provide food and jobs from our affiliated growers to those in need while offering a supportive and safe environment full of opportunities that benefit those served by our partner organizations – like victims of domestic violence and limited ability groups such as senior citizens.

Volunteer & Resource Center

Currently, we are in the planning phase of facilitating our dream of creating a first-of-its-kind resource center here is Southern California which will provide materials and resources for sustainable and regenerative projects.  For example, one of our goals is to reduce waste by accepting usable construction materials for reuse in community greenhouse installations or tiny home village developments to help combat the increasing need for the homeless.

Helping Hands

Helping Hands is a program designed specifically to assist individuals and non-tax exempt organizations who have amazing ideas for positive change but don’t quite have the means to see it through.  This program allows these ideas to come to life by leveraging OSL’s resources for those proposed programs that align with our overall mission.
